The number of pilgrims this year (1438 AH) increased by 26 percent over last year, reaching 2.35 million pilgrims, compared to 1.86 million pilgrims last year. According to the analysis of the Economic Reports Unit, foreign pilgrims constituted 74 percent of the total number of pilgrims, at about 1.75 million pilgrims, while domestic pilgrims amounted to 600 thousand pilgrims.
